Myself and Laura intended on watching The Borne Ultimatum, but found that despite having tickets, there were no seats left. Thankfully we ended up watching Hallam Foe, which won best film at the recent Edinburgh International Film Festival. Staring Jamie Bell who played Billy Eliot in the film Billy Eliot.
A view from my old Student Flat on the Royal Mile, where we would claber onto the rooftops of Geddes Entry/ Anchor Close and Cockburn Street, with PC Cameron
Great film, check out http://www.jamieclague.co.uk/blog/2007/08/16/hallam-foe-edinburgh-roofing/ for a review from Jamie who went to the Edinburgh Film Festival Premier to watch the film on the opening night of the Festival, 15th August.

As the title suggest, its a BBC sponsored show, with more than one act. I went to a show earlier in the festival, but this by far more enjoyable.
1 MC – Jarred Christmas – Marvelous compare, I will be looking out for him in the future. Took down several hecklers with lightning speed, especially a drunken PE teacher who fell asleep. – 9/10
4 Comedians
Tanyalee Davis – Very funny Small Person (Dwarf in her own words,) very, very wrong and shocking jokes. 8/10
Tom Basden – Guitar based humor and IF Comedy Newcomer of 2007 – 7.5/10
Nick Doody – started off slow, but worked the crowd well enough – 7/10
Glenn Wool – He had clearly had a few drinks after his own show, at the Underbelly. Very clever comedian though - 8.5/10
Overall 8/10

The Government Inspector by Gogol is a Russian Play, told in Romanian with English subtitles. I went to watch this at the Freemasons Hall on George St, with Laura, Alina and my Cousin Colin who was for in Edinburgh from Burtonwood in Cheshire, for the Festival.
Good universal story, although my neck was hurting from swinging back and two from the subtitles and the action.

Breakfast with the Bickersons is an adaptation of a mid 20th Century US radio show. It uses puppets to represent the radio characters, for visual effect. The show includes FREE Pain au Chocolate and Orange Juice at the start of the show. More for Kids, but enjoyable all the same.

My Cousin Colin was keen to stay behind for the hug a puppet after show, and in doing so, got a kiss from Lisa Glen one of the actresses, who played Blanche Bickerson.

Not bad, although his set was an expanded version of the one I watched at ‘Best of The Fest’ earlier in the Festival. I liked his interaction with the audience and the film at the start of his set. Overall well presented, which made up for the old material. He likes his water, check out his laugh if you ever get the chance to see him live.
7.5/10

Great, hard hitting and gritty drama from the Yorkshire girls and guys. I was dragged by my Cousin Colin, who befriended Laura Taylor from Wakefield, the brunet from the show, who was handing out fliers on the Royal Mile. The majority of the play was conducted with actors wearing only underwear, leaving little for the imagination. If more people were aware of this, I think it would be sold out!

No picture available, so I though this would do!
The doomsday clock has finally struck midnight … When the dust from the nuclear arms race settles, only one place is left – surely the fate of humanity can’t rest in the hands of these, these …
This surreal play has a tone, non to dissimilar to the League of Gentlemen Apocalypse film.

Very strange, but good none the less. 6.5/10
